James MacPhail's Notes

This is our homage to the legendary Russian River Valley AVA, crafted from a variety of vineyard sources throughout the region with the goal of highlighting the Russian River's iconic Pinot Noir style: fresh, luscious, bursting with red fruits, and laced with a hint of Russian River earthy notes. 2018 was an almost ideal growing season, and this wine reflects the incredible quality we saw in the vineyards that year.

Tasting Notes

Bing cherry, strawberry, and dried orange peel on the nose. The palate is supple, smooth, silky, and driven by red fruits with notes of fresh wild raspberries and red plum. Overall this wine is bright, fresh, clean, and has a lingering, fruit-forward finish. Drink now through 2033.

Production Notes

Grapes were hand-picked, hand-sorted, and 100% de-stemmed. They underwent a five-day cold maceration followed by fermentation in small, open-top tanks in which a selection of native and inoculated yeasts were utilized along with daily punch-downs by hand to enhance flavor. Wine was aged in oak barrels for 11 months sur lie with battonage in barrel every other week.
