    James MacPhail's Notes

This wine is crafted as Our Tribute to our fathers, who inspired Jim, Peter, and myself to pursue our calling in life. We've partnered with a small family grower on Moon Mountain who embodies that pursuit, growing beautiful, healthy Cabernet Sauvignon amid steep and rocky terrain that requires incredible passion, dedication, and commitment to producing some of the finest Cabernet in Sonoma County.

    Tasting Notes

The 2019 Our Tribute is dense, dark red in the glass with cherry red hues. The aroma is concentrated and complex, with flavorful layers of blackberry pie, dark chocolate, coffee, and toasted spices. The palate is rich and rewarding, with deep flavors of ripe blueberry, black cherry, licorice, and toffee that linger and harmonize with soft, silky tannins and a long finish. A powerful and robust Cabernet Sauvignon that embodies its mountaintop provenance.

    Production Notes

Grapes were hand-sorted and gently crushed. After native-yeast fermentation, the wine went through an extended maceration period to soften the tannins, and malolactic fermentation occurred in barrel. The wine is bottled unfined and unfiltered to preserve complexity.
